Skysports.com understands West Ham are closing in on the signing of Tottenham winger David Bentley.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has lined up a loan deal for the former Blackburn man as he looks to bolster his squad before the transfer window slams shut.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp confirmed earlier on transfer deadline day that he was willing to let Bentley move on as he is well down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.
Bentley appears to be surplus to requirements at Tottenham with the England international spending the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham City.
Bentley, who joined Spurs from Blackburn in the summer of 2008, has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team under Redknapp with Aaron Lennon preferred on the right side of midfield.
The winger is keen to leave Tottenham in search of first-team football and Allardyce is ready to offer him the chance to kick-start his career at Upton Park.
