NO OFFERS FOR PEDRO

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed there have been no offers for Spain international Pedro.

Reports have suggested Manchester United are closing in on a deal for the 28-year-old but Bartomeu does not see anyone leaving the Nou Camp before the end of the transfer window.

“The team is what it is,” he said. “It has been put together. We have the team that our coach wanted - it’s done and completed.

“We don’t foresee any departures from the team. I’ve read many things about a Pedro departure, but no one has officially addressed our club.

“Our squad is complete.”

In an interview with Cadena SER, Lorenzo revealed that should Barcelona sell Pedro to Manchester United this summer they will receive a small share of the fee for bringing the player up until he joined Barcelona at 17 and stated that Pedro’s close friends already know he’s off to England.

“The player [Pedro] was here holding a camp several weeks ago and his friends already know.”

Lorenzo then reveal a conversation he had with Pedro’s mother at a furniture store with the winger’s mother confirming Pedro will make the move north this summer.

“I ran into Pedro’s mother at a furniture store and she told me that Pedro is moving to England.”

Manchester United could finalise the transfer of Pedro following Barcelona’s Gamper match against Roma and Raqui San Lorenzo would earn ?90,000 per year with ?450,000 overall owed to the club for formation rights and other clauses within the player’s contract.

Lorenzo went on to add that when Pedro made his debut with Barcelona in Tercera, they earned ?6,000, ?24,000 when he made the first team and ?300,000 when Pedro played more than five games with the first team.

UNITED SEND REPS TO BARCA FOR PEDRO DEAL

Manchester United have despatched representatives to Barcelona to finalise the signing of Spain forward Pedro, reports AS.

The Old Trafford side are gearing up to sell Angel Di Maria to PSG and they will replace him with Pedro, whose first-team role at Barca diminished last season after the arrival of Luis Suarez from Liverpool.

The winger’s mother revealed at the weekend that the 28-year-old is bound for England, and United are keen to get the deal tied up as soon as possible, although Barca want at least ?30m for him.

Manchester United are very interested in signing Spain forward Pedro from Barcelona, Sky sources understand.

Unconfirmed reports in the Spanish press claim that United have sent representatives to the Nou Camp to conclude a deal for the 28-year-old, who is understood to be the subject of interest from other clubs in the Premier League.

But Sky sources understand no talks have yet taken place.

Barcelona are believed to have made it clear that any prospective buyer would have to pay the £22m release clause in the player's contract to initiate talks and no club has yet done so.

Pedro joined Barcelona's youth team as a 17-year-old and has won five La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues since.

But he has not been a regular in the first-team under manager Luis Enrique. He made just 15 league starts as Barca won the title last season.

Team-mate Sergio Busquets recently admitted his long-term friend might have to leave Catalonia in order to get regular first-team games.

His fellow Spaniard said: "I have spoken with Pedro. I think that, as a team-mate and friend, I would like him to stay for a long time but I understand that he has doubts.

"He wants to play but there is a lot of competition. In our team we have the best players and it's very difficult. I hope he stays but the decision is his."

Meanwhile, the latest on Man Utd's ongoing pursuit of Barcelona forward Pedro is Sky understands there are still no offers for the Spain international, who could replace Angel Di Maria at Old Trafford this season.

Barca's president has said he's a key player for coach Luis Enrique, with Pedro's buyout clause a whopping £22m.

There's plenty of transfer talk coming out of Old Trafford surrounding Manchester United's interest in Barcelona winger Pedro.

Pedro has asked to leave and will not play as a starter for Barcelona in the UEFA Super Cup.
Barça have gone with Rafinha in the starting line-up and his inclusion has caused some doubts over how Barcelona will line-up in Tbilisi.
Rafinha could play inside and Andrés Iniesta could push further forward or he could take one of the forward positions.

Pedro: Barcelona forward 'wants to leave the club'

Barcelona forward Pedro wants to leave the Spanish side, says technical secretary Robert Fernandez.
Pedro has been linked with Manchester United,  as the Premier League side look to replace Angel Di Maria.
The 28-year-old scored the winner as the Catalan club beat Sevilla 5-4 in a thrilling Super Cup on Tuesday.
"Pedro has told me he wants to go. The buyout clause in his contract is not negotiable but this could be his final game," said Fernandez.

Pedro 'angry' at not playing

Spain international Pedro has scored 99 goals in 319 games for Barcelona, and has won five La Liga titles with the club.
Pedro, who made 50 appearances for the Nou Camp side last season, has won the Champions League three times, including scoring a goal in the 2011 final against Manchester United. He has also played a part in Spain's World Cup and European Championship triumphs.
Asked if he wanted to leave Barcelona, he said on Tuesday night: "The answer is no. But it is a difficult, complicated situation. When you know you may leave it is difficult."
Pedro said the issue around his future was "not for money", but about "minutes" on the pitch, adding he had a "lot of anger" at not starting the Super Cup.
But he criticised Fernandez for "some very unfortunate declarations".
"I've not said what Robert's said, or at least not how I said it," the forward told a Spanish broadcaster after the match.
"The truth is that I had a good chance to play. The coach has decided not to count on me. I don't know, I don't know if I will continue here," he added.
"Manchester? Yes, there are nice challenges on all sides. Today I'm here, and I'm happy. And if I go, I will go with my head held high having always given everything."

Pedro stands aside: "If I leave, I can hold my head high"

It was a bittersweet affair for Pedro Rodríguez after the UEFA Super Cup despite being the hero of the final in Tbilisi.
Whilst Andrés Iniesta lifted the trophy, Pedro held back to one side contemplating the scene. Seconds later, he made comments to the Spanish channel Mega which sounded like he was saying his goodbyes.
"If I leave, I can hold my head high," the Spanish forward said. When asked about his probable departure for Manchester United, he remarked: "Challenges await in many places, but whilst I'm here I'll keep giving my all as I've always done". In addition, Pedro spared a thought for Neymar, whose sudden onset of mumps opened the door to the UEFA Super Cup for him, although he didn't come on until extra time: "We dedicate this win to Neymar, let's hope he gets better soon."

PEDRO HINTS AT BARCA EXIT

It was Pedro's extra-time goal that seal UEFA Super Cup glory for Barcelona against Sevilla but it did not stop the Spanish international hinting his future could be away from the Nou Camp.

Despite the speculation regarding his future, the Manchester United target insists he has not asked to leave Barcaa but has admitted he doesn’t know if he will stay at the club.

Nou Camp technical secretary Robert Fernandez said before Tuesday’s UEFA Super Cup match against Sevilla in Tbilisi that the Spain international had told him he wanted to move on.

Speaking afterwards, Pedro was adamant the situation wasn’t as straightforward as him simply wanting to leave the European champions.

Asked if he wanted to go or not, the winger said: "The answer is no, but it's complicated for many things. It's not for money, as has been said – which is another lack of respect. It's a question of continuity, of minutes. I'm an ambitious player. Stay or go, I will always be of this team.

"I'm calm, happy and I will always continue giving everything if I continue at this club. Manchester? Yes, there are nice challenges on all sides. Today I'm here and I'm happy. And if I go I will go with my head held high having always given everything. These fans and this club are incredible."

Asked about his future and the comments by Barça director of football Robert Fernández, who claimed before the match that the star had asked to leave, Pedro replied that his situation has "many pros and cons". "Robert Fernández's words are unfair. He made some very unfortunate remarks. People like that are better off saying nothing. He must have his reasons".
"I feel calm and happy about winning another trophy. I've always given my all at this club and I hope to be able to keep doing so. I don't know if I've played my last game for Barcelona. I just want to savour the trophy. I'm here today and I'm happy to have scored in the UEFA Super Cup. I'm grateful to everyone for all the experiences I've had and to all the fans", the 28-year-old stated.
