Senderos - I hope to be back training in about a month
By Richard Clarke
Philippe Senderos expects to be ready to return to training in a month.
The 21-year-old has missed the start of the new season after injuring his shoulder at the World Cup. He recuperation has gone well since then and now he is chomping at the bit to resume his blossoming Arsenal career.
“I am about four weeks away from coming back and training with the team,” said Senderos in an exclusive interview with Arsenal TV Online. “Then it will be a few weeks before I can fight for my place again.”
Senderos also talked about the way his “unlucky” injury came about in the Group G fixture against South Korea on June 23.
“It happened 10 minutes into the second half,” he said. “I landed from a header then I wanted to push my opponent off. As I did that my shoulder just went. I ran off straight away. It was unlucky because it is not a very common injury in football but I am sure I will come back stronger now.”
Arsenal TV Online subscribers will be able to see the full video interview on Thursday.
