Newcastle slap deadline on Arsenal Yohan Cabaye deal to avoid Andy Carroll Liverpool saga
NEWCASTLE have reportedly given clubs interested in signing Yohan Cabaye a deadline to help ward off a late transfer bid, much like what happened with Andy Carroll.



The Magpies found themselves thrown off balance after the Reds came in and a made a £35m bid for Carroll on January 31st 2011,
leaving the club no time to bring in a replacement.

And according to The Journal, United are now working to an in-house deadline of Friday to conclude any business in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners are reportedly poised to return with an improved £13m bid for Cabaye, after their original £11m was dismissed last week.

Their offer looks set to be turned down however, as Newcastle want £18m for a player boss Alan Pardew describes as “one of the best in the world in his position".

The Magpies are expecting a bid from Paris St-Germain but even they are reluctant to match that figure.
