Anyway, more discussion on the new right back -> Arbeloa

Well, just a general observation of our right back options in the past 5-6 years. We do have a few different choices down the years:

- Finnan
- Josemi
- Kromkamp
- Otsemobor
- Babbel
- Arbeloa

Babbel and Finnan are probably the only 2 had guaranteed starting place in their respective era. For the rest of the right backs, the obvious problem was the lack of playing time. Do Josemi, Kromkamp or Otsemobor have the quality to become a regular member? We would never know as they had very little chance behind Finnan. The thing is, I don't think introduction of Arbeloa will be any difference from the previous right backs. In terms of quality he is very unproven. Minimal experience in real madrid first team, and then 1/2 season in Deportivo La Coru. Since we are now out of the 2 dometic cups, Finnan should be able to start in the rest of the premiership games, making very little chance for Arbeloa to play this season. Unless our scout sees great potential in him, I don't see the difference, just yet.

Frankly Finnan is already 30-31 now and he SHOULD NOT be playing every game in a season, if we want him to give the best service for Liverpool for the longest time. It's time to consider some potential long term replacement for him. So far, Arbeloa looks like justfor transitional for the rest of the season rather than a long term solution.

So funny with the duel Liverpool and Arsenal. Whenever we lost points, Arsenal lost points as well. That tells you something about the hugh gap between the 3rd and the 4th with the top 2 teams.

Keeping the 3rd spot in front of Arsenal means nothing to me. For 1), it doesn't help anything to guarantee our Champions League group stage spot. And 2), it is no boost to our confidence in the title pursue next year. It took Arsenal a few years of consistent 2nd spot before they leapfrogged ManUtd to be the no. 1. For Liverpool, we haven't even secured a 2nd spot more than once since the Premiership exists. Any talk before we can achieve the 2nd spot is meaningless to me.


I don't 吹水 because when I go online, it's likely the time everyone go to ZZzzzzzz........!!!
