Following the sale of Ruud van Nistelrooy, United are being strongly linked with a move for one of three strikers.
Fernando Torres is allegedly still the subject of interest from United and Chelsea despite insisting that he will stay in Spain for another season.
Two new names thrown into the ring by the rumour-mongers are that of Argentine hot property Carlos Tevez and Dirk Kuyt, van Nistelrooy's international heir-apparent.
Tevez is tipped to leave Corinthians following a spat with the club's fans, while Kuyt is now being linked with United after a summer of stories mooting a move to Liverpool.
Despite the sale of van Nistelrooy, however, another midfielder is also a priority for Sir Alex Ferguson following the arrival of Michael Carrick. Villarreal's Marcos Senna is the name most frequently linked, with talks allegedly underway to secure a switch to United.
