Seventh heaven for Leverkusen

The final score of 7 - 0 didn't flatter Bayer 04 Leverkusen as they totally controlled their German First Division game against FC Schalke 04 at BayArena. The highlight of the game was undoubtedly a superb hat-trick from Leverkusen's Stefan Kießling.
Striker Stefan Kießling gave Leverkusen the lead with a well timed close range finish in the 25th minute. The striker was able to add to his tally soon after with another strike on 33 minutes.
Kießling added his 3rd goal of the game with a placed shot which hit the inside of the post before crossing the line on 38 minutes. Strong centre-back Lukas Sinkiewicz then added to the lead with a well timed close range finish on 52 minutes. An error from Benedikt Höwedes allowed striker Theofanis Gekas to score a well executed finish.
Hyypiä added another goal for Leverkusen with a powerful close range header on 80 minutes. There were no prizes for guessing who completed the rout on 90 minutes as that man Hyypiä popped up again with a thumping header.
