David James has put pen to paper to agree a second year at City.
The 53-cap England goalkeeper, 40, had the option of a second year at the club after completing a certain number of games in his first campaign.
Manager Keith Millen told bcfc.co.uk: "David proved his fitness last year being available for every game and he clearly sees us going in the right direction, pushing for promotion in the forthcoming season. That's why he's decided to sign the contract extension."
David played in all but two of City's matches in 2010/11 and was fit for all of them, with boss Keith opting to field Dean Gerken in the Carling Cup game at Southend and the penultimate match of the season at Derby County.
Now the former Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City stopper is looking forward to another season at Ashton Gate.
