Is it too late to say something like this?
Under advantage rule,Eto'o's 1st goal could be allowed,Lehmann will only get yellow instead of red,and the game would have been 11 vs 11.
But unfortunately everything is too late to be done now.
Champ League Final REFEREE Terje Hauge:I should have waited
By WAYNE CYRUS
REFEREE Terje Hauge has admitted he may have acted too hastily in sending off Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann in the Champions League final.
Lehmann was red-carded on 18 minutes for bringing down Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o just outside the area.
Ludovic Giuly slotted the ball into an empty net after the challenge, only for Hauge to disallow the goal.
But many observers felt the match official should have used the advantage rule and allowed Lehmann to stay on the pitch.
Having spent the night thinking about his performance, Hauge now appears to agree with his critics.
The Norwegian official said: "We had full control of the match and all in all I’m quite happy with my performance.
"The match started well, then obviously there was the incident with the sending-off.
"The ideal thing would have been to wait a few seconds.
"If I’d done that, I could have given the goal and eventually given a yellow card.
"Under other circumstances I would perhaps have done something different, but this mostly rested on the positioning in relation to the situation.
"Everything happens quickly on the pitch and for me it looked as if there was physical contact.
"As well as that it happened in the linesman’s working area and I had no reason to doubt him in this instance."
