Le milieu international japonais (30 ans, 31 sélections) a notamment porté les couleurs de Kyoto (Jap.), du Mans, de Grenoble et de Tom Tomsk (Rus.).

French Ligue 1 club Dijon announce deal for Japan international Daisuke Matsui is done

The 2010 World Cup star has been set to join the newly-promoted French club for some time but now the formalities have been completed and the move is ready to become official

Newly-promoted Ligue 1 outfit Dijon have announced that Japan international Daisuke Matsui has committed to the club for the next two years.

Dijon made the announcement on the club's website on Wednesday, with the midfielder expected to be officially unveiled at a press conference next week.

Matsui, who is pictured on the club's website beside Dijon chairman Bernard Gnecchi, is believed to have finalised the two-year deal on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old 2010 World Cup star has left French club Grenoble to join Dijon who were promoted to France's top flight after finishing third in Ligue 2 last season.

Matsui has also played for fellow French clubs Saint-Etienne and Le Mans and could soon be joined at Dijon by compatriot Yasayuki Konno who will trial with the newly-promoted outfit early next month.

Dijon trial confirmed for Japan international Yasuyuki Konno

There was speculation the Samurai Blue defender was set for a move to France earlier this week and now the newly-promoted club have revealed he's set for a trial

FC Tokyo defender Yasuyuki Konno will trial with newly-promoted Ligue 1 club Dijon beginning on August 2, the French outfit confirmed on Tuesday.

There had been speculation linking the 28-year-old Japan international with the French outfit earlier this week, however FC Tokyo and the player admitted they knew little about a move.

"I have heard nothing but it is honour to be rated highly and coming from a foreigner it makes me happy,” Konno told Sports Nippon.

However, Dijon revealed on Tuesday that Konno would be trialling with the club beginning in early August.

It is believed Konno will link up with the French club for a training camp in Bosnia where coach Patrice Calderon will run the rule over him.

Konno, who was part of Japan's squad at the 2010 World Cup and 2011 Asian Cup, has 47 international caps.
