Mario Gomez extends until 2016
Mario Gomez has commited his long-term future to FC Bayern Munich after signing a contract extension until 2016
Munich - Top goalscorer Mario Gomez will continue to lead the line at FC Bayern Munich. The German international and the FC Bayern Munich AG board have reached an agreement on a contract extension that will keep the striker at the club until 30th June 2016."I have always said that FC Bayern are a great club, where I feel comfortable and where I see the best opportunities for myself from a sporting perspective," stated Mario Gomez. "I'm really pleased that the contract extension has been wrapped up. I'm confident that we can achieve a lot of great things in the coming years and I very much want to be a part of that."
Die Münchner's sporting director Christian Nerlinger also expressed his delight at the news. "In the last few years Mario Gomez has developed into one of the best centre-forwards in Europe," declared Nerlinger. "We're delighted that he will continue to score goals for FC Bayern. With Mario's contract extension and several other current international players, we have established a long-term foundation for FC Bayern in the coming years."
