The Russian Football Union (RFU) have confirmed the appointment of former England manager Fabio Capello as the new coach of their national side.
The vastly-experienced Italian inherits the reins from Dick Advocaat, who signalled his intent to quit the post prior to a disappointing showing at Euro 2012.
Capello has been out of work since stepping down as England boss in February.
He was quickly installed as a leading contender for the Russia job and it came as no surprise when he was named on their 13-man shortlist.
Talks have now been completed and the RFU are delighted to announce that Capello will lead their charge towards the 2014 World Cup.
"Today we decided to appoint Capello as our national team's manager," RFU deputy president Nikita Simonyan said on Monday.
"We expect him to come to Moscow in the near future to finalise the details of his contract and sign it."
