Barcelona are plotting a shock £3million move for Arsenal target Julio Cesar.
Catalan-based newspaper Sport claims Tito Vilanova is assessing his goalkeeper options, with Victor Valdes set to walk away from the Nou Camp at the end of his contract next summer.
And, QPR stopper Cesar is now a legitimate target after an impressive Confederations Cup with Brazil.
The 33-year-old was one of the players of the tournament, and is available for a cut-price ?3million after Harry Redknapp’s side were relegated from the Premier League last season.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move ever since, with Arsene Wenger still searching for a solid number one as Wojciech Szczesny and Lukaz Fabianski fail to make the position their own.
Cesar is odds-on to join the Gunners with some bookmakers, but a move to the Emirates Stahim could now be threatened by the La Liga champions.
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is also tipped to join Barca in 2014, according to Sport, but the arrival of Cesar this summer would offer a guaranteed replacement for Cesar should something go wrong in a deal for the Borussia Monchengladbach keeper.
