Busquets commits to Barcelona







Barcelona have announced that Sergio Busquets has signed a new five-year contract with the club.

Busquets has committed to the Liga champions until 2018, with the option of a further year, while his terms include a ?150 million release clause.

Barca confirmed the news on their official website, on the day of the player's 25th birthday.

The Spain international has made 238 first-team appearances for Barca, having emerged as a key member of their squad, operating in the holding midfield role.

Busquets has won four Liga titles with Barca, the Copa del Rey on two occasions and Champions League trophy twice.

In February, Barca were boosted by the news that star player Lionel Messi had extended his contract while Xavi and Carles Puyol also penned new deals this year.

Liga - Barca confirm Busquets renewal
Barcelona have said midfielder Sergio Busquets will sign a contract extension this Tuesday.







Speculation was at the end of last week that the 25-year-old would officially pen a deal that has widely been understood to have been agreed weeks ago.

Barca have today confirmed that Tuesday will see the formalities on the renewal completed and the midfielder pen a three-year extension to commit him at the Camp Nou until June 2018.

The club have also confirmed that the player’s buyout clause in the new deal will remain at ?150m.
