Robert Lewandowski has ended his dispute with Borussia Dortmund, agreeing a pay rise for his final season at the Westfalenstadion.

Lewandowski, set to move to Bayern Munich on a free transfer when his contract expires in 2014, said late last month that he had “a problem” with certain people at Dortmund after failing to secure a switch to the Allianz Arena this summer.

However, the Poland international appears to have been placated after he agreed new terms, with Der Spiegel reporting that he will earn up to ?4.5 million during his final year with the club.

In an interview with Bild am Sonntag, Dortmund CEO Aki Watzke said: “It is right that we have adjusted Robert’s wages to his sporting value -- as we had planned to do for several months.

“Robert’s desire to make the switch to Bayern this summer was legitimate, and it was clear that at first he’d be disappointed that we would not allow him to leave.”

Following talks with the club, the player and his agent had come to terms with the situation, Watzke said, adding: “It was a long and intense meeting. It was about time that we did this.”

Lewandowski made his 100th Bundesliga appearance for Dortmund on Sunday in a 2-1 victory at home to Eintracht Braunschweig, but was unable to add to the 55 goals he has scored for the club.

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed striker Robert Lewandowski has been given a pay rise but is not about to agree an extended deal with the club.

The Poland international was heavily linked with a move to Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich this summer but is now expected to see out the final year of his contract at the Westfalenstadion.

The 24-year-old is still believed to be keen on a Dortmund exit and told the Polish media earlier this month that he felt "cheated" out of a transfer to Bayern.

Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has now confirmed the player has been given a pay rise to reflect his "sporting value" but stresses that the player has not agreed a new contract.

"We have been looking into the situation of Robert together with his agent," Watzke told Bild.

"I am not here to tell details, but this has always been the case and will remain so. Just like it usually is in this business.

"One result of this [the talks] is, of course, that we have updated the wages of Robert.

"We had planned this months ago and Robert's wages are now up to his sporting value."
