Southampton are looking to sign Valencia winger Pablo Piatti on a season loan.
The 24-year-old has been courted by Everton, Celtic and Rennes but was looking to stay in Spain.
However, the influence of Southampton's Argentine boss Mauricio Pocchettino could sway a deal their way.
