Highly-rated Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is being eyed up as a potential candidate to replace Jorge Jesus at Portuguese side Benfica, according to the
Daily Mirror.
The 49-year-old is regarded as one of the best young managers in the world after his fine work in the Premier League with Swansea, and could be set for a big role in the future after being linked with the likes of
Real Madrid at points during the summer.
There were rumours that he had come into some disagreement with the Welsh side after they fired his agent Bayram Tutumlu, but he has supposedly agreed a truce to remain at the Liberty Stadium for the time being.
The Dane led the Swans to glory in the Capital One Cup last season, and is one of two main candidates for the Benfica job along with former Brighton manager Gus Poyet, as they consider the future of their current head coach Jesus.
The 59-year-old has been with the club since 2009, but his future at the club has come under some scrutiny following a disastrous end to last season, which saw his side lose two cup finals and miss out on the Portuguese league title to rivals Porto.
Laudrup has a release clause of £10m in his contract with Swansea, which they will hope is enough to keep him at the club.
