Fergie's back at Old Trafford to watch Moyes' men take on Crystal Palace
Sir Alex Ferguson was in the stands to watch Manchester United's Barclays Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday.Former United manager Ferguson
had recovered sufficiently from his hip operation to tell his successor David Moyes he intended to watch his first game since retirement and he fulfilled that promise. There was a nice irony about Wayne Rooney's unexpected involvement from the start given Ferguson's claim the England striker had demanded
a transfer at the end of last season, which he vehemently denied.
It came after Moyes teamed up with Sir Alex for the first time in public since he retired at the end of last season.
Ferguson’s successor at Old Trafford took time out to join the Scot for a charity event at the 29 Private Members’ Club in Glasgow on Thursday night.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon and Rangers boss Ally McCoist put aside their rivalry to co-host the function in aid of the STV Appeal which
raises money for children living in poverty in Scotland.
