Carlton Cole returnsWest Ham United have signed forward Carlton Cole on a short-term contract until January 2014 Carlton Cole cannot wait to pull on a claret and blue shirt again after re-joining West Ham United.
The
England centre forward has signed for the Hammers on a short-term contract until 13 January 2014,
reuniting him with the Club he represented 237 times over seven seasons. After working on his fitness at Chadwell Heath for the past few weeks,
Cole successfully came through a behind-closed-doors match with Championship side Charlton Athletic last week.
The striker, who scored 59 goals for the Hammers between 2006 and 2013,
told West Ham TV he is looking forward to getting reacquainted with the team-mates, coaching staff and supporters he knows so well.
I'm in an excellent mood, am happy to be back and can't wait to get working with the lads again and start my season off," said Cole,
who
turned 30 on Saturday and will wear the No24 shirt."I've been working hard with the strength and conditioning coach Mathew Monte-Colombo in the gym
and he's been really hands-on with me to get me up to standard to train with the team and get my match-fitness up as quickly as possible with a view to signing.
"I feel fit and raring to go and it's time to start knocking on the manager's door to get some games under my belt."
Cole rejoins the Club at an exciting time, with the squad on a high following a 3-0 Barclays Premier League win at Tottenham Hotspur and players like Stewart Downing
and Ravel Morrison adding quality to the group."I didn't actually see the Tottenham game but I saw the goals going in on Sky Sports News and, being a West Ham fan,
I was over-chuffed for the team, the players and the manager."I'm definitely excited because there are top-class players here and
it's good to be playing and stable in the Premier League and looking to progress and do better than last season. We've got the players to do that and hopefully I can be a part of it."
Reflecting on his departure from the Boleyn Ground in the summer, Cole is now looking to make up for lost time and make his mark again in a West Ham shirt.
"At the end of the day, everything happens for a reason and you don't always choose what is going to happen to you.
We decided to part ways in the summer but West Ham and me have ended up together again! Hopefully I can come in and be who I am and help the team achieve what we need to achieve." http://www.whufc.com/articles/20131014/carlton-cole-returns_2236884_3494890 [ 此帖被羅力亞在2013-10-14 23:13重新編輯 ]
