Holland's football authorities looking into serious allegations from ex-owner of club where several Blues starlets are on loan Chelsea’s links with Vitesse Arnhem are to be probed by the Dutch Football Federation.
Former owner Merab Jordania and technical director Ted van Leeuwen have been asked to give details
of the structure of the club after Jordania
made serious allegations about Chelsea’s involvement.
Vitesse are now owned by Russian oligarch Alex Chigirinsky, who is a close friend of Roman Abramovich and who re-organised the club hierarchy when he took over.
Now Jordania claims that Chelsea had a huge input into the running of Vitesse and both he and
Van Leeuwen have agreed to give their version of events to the Dutch football authorities.
“How big is the influence of Chelsea? Every day there is contact,” said Jordania. “Every day, everything is discussed. The directors of Vitesse have to contact London first before they are allowed to decide. It is a sad situation.”
He claims that a clash with Abramovich and Chelsea prevented Vitesse winning the Eredivisie title in Holland.
“The club was in the number one position in the table when I had to leave the club behind. It has all gone wrong since.
"But we saw a similar situation one year ago.
We were in pole position when London blocked transfers in the last hour before the deadline. We needed those players to secure the title.”
Jordania also claims he was forced to sell midfielder Marco van Ginkel to Chelsea for £6million when German club Wolfsburg had offered twice that sum.
“What I am revealing now is maybe better for football and for Vitesse,” said Jordania in an interview in Holland.
“I want to tell the fans the real story and the reason why we could not win the championship two years in a row.
“I told the Vitesse directors six months ago what was going on. It is my pledge to inform the Dutch Federation what is going on at Vitesse.
“I have fallen out with the current directors in Arnhem because they are only listening to the people in London.
"And everyone who I wanted to keep was sacked – because those people stood up against London. Call it Chelsea ... London ... whatever.
There is a big force above this Dutch club.”
