Rodgers set to sign new deal with Liverpool 
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed the "framework" of a new contract between him and the club is in place.
Rodgers is set to put pen to paper on a new deal once the Reds have completed the season.
Liverpool set off with the ambition of breaking back into the Barclays Premier League's top four
but instead mounted a challenge for the title which has only faltered in the last few weeks.
Asked at his press conference on Friday ahead of Sunday's home clash with Newcastle to clarify the situation regarding his contract,
Rodgers said: "I've obviously been in discussions with the club and there is the framework of a deal that is in place."But I have always said it will be at the end of the season. "I want nothing to detract from what has been a great season for ourselves. Hopefully we will resolve it over the course of the off-season."
