Transfer news: Fulham complete the signing of Australia striker Adam Taggart Fulham have confirmed the signing of Australia striker Adam Taggart on a three-year deal from Newcastle Jets. The 21-year-old has joined the Championship side for an undisclosed fee and will link up with his new team-mates at Craven Cottage after returning from the World Cup.
Taggart was a part of Ange Postecoglou’s 23-man squad for Brazil and he made two appearances in a tough Group B campaign –
coming off the bench in the 3-2 defeat to Holland before leading the line in their 3-0 loss to Spain.
Having joined from Perth Glory in 2012, Taggart spent two years at Newcastle and
scooped the A-League Golden Boot and Young Footballer of the Year award during his time there, as well as earning a place in Team of the Season for the last campaign. Fulham have been heavily linked with a striker in recent weeks as they look for an immediate return to the top-flight,
with a £5million bid rejected for Leeds United captain Ross McCormack, but Taggart’s arrival has now boosted Felix Magath’s attacking options.
A statement on the club’s official website read: "Fulham Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Adam Taggart from Australia A-League side Newcastle Jets, for an undisclosed fee."
