Andy Carroll: West Ham striker to sit out rest of pre-season tour



West Ham striker Andy Carroll will sit out the club's pre-season tour of New Zealand after suffering a sore ankle.
Carroll missed Wednesday's 2-1 defeat by Wellington Phoenix and will not be considered for the match against Sydney FC in Wellington on Saturday.
A statement on the club's website  said that Carroll would "receive intensive treatment to ensure he is fit for the start of the season".
The problem is unrelated to the heel injury Carroll had last season.
The 25-year-old missed the majority of 2013-14, managing just 15 league appearances and also failed to force his way into England's World Cup squad.
New signing Mauro Zarate scored his first goal for the club as they slipped to defeat in their opening tour fixture.

新球季尚未開始，韋斯咸前鋒安祖卡路爾可能已經收咧，這位前英格蘭國腳在韋斯咸於新西蘭備戰新球季時，不慎傷及足踝，
起初以為傷勢並不嚴重，預計休息2、3個月便可康復，但領隊艾拿迪斯現在卻憂慮卡路爾，無法在新球季上陣。
「大儍」指出，球隊軍醫正努力為卡路爾治理傷勢，但看來情況並不樂觀，亦是他不欲看到的情況。
25歲的卡路爾上半季已經因傷，錯過了多場比賽。

Andy Carroll: West Ham striker faces long lay-off with ankle injury



West Ham's Andy Carroll has torn ligaments in his ankle and could be out of action for four months.
The former Liverpool player, 25, is set to have an operation on Friday in the United States.
Carroll picked up the problem on the Hammers' tour of New Zealand, reporting a sore left ankle in training.
Jack Sullivan, son of co-owner David, tweeted details  of the extent of the injury on Thursday following a question and answer session with his father.
He wrote: "Very bad news regarding AC. Torn ligaments in ankle. Operation tomorrow with top surgeon in USA. Will be playing in four months."
The club only discovered the full extent of the injury on Thursday evening.
Carroll missed West Ham's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wellington Phoenix and the club announced he would miss the rest of the tour.
He has been plagued by injury since moving to Upton Park for a club record £15m from Liverpool after impressing during a loan spell.
He missed the majority of 2013-14 with a heel problem - managing just 15 league appearances - and also failed to force his way into England's World Cup squad.

有指，「玻璃腳」卡路爾可訂下目標於11月尾時復出，而他對於再次重返球場，充滿信心；尤其去季上半年度因傷缺陣，如今季前又告受傷下，更使他渴望再戰。
