Transfer news: Leicester sign Tom Lawrence from Manchester United



Leicester City have signed striker Tom Lawrence from Manchester United on a four-year contract.

The Foxes just beat the transfer deadline to add the 20-year-old to their squad.

Lawrence, who was born in Wrexham, made only one appearance for United when starting the final Premier League game of last season – the 3-1 home win over Hull City.

He had previously had loan spells with Carlisle and Yeovil last term, making a total of 30 appearances and scoring five goals.

After signing for Leicester he told Sky Sports News HQ: “It’s all sorted so I can’t wait to get going now.

“I have been at Manchester United for a long time now, and I can’t wait to get some game time.”

Nick Powell Joins Leicester City On Loan

Leicester City Football Club is delighted to confirm that Nick Powell has joined the Club on a season-long loan from Manchester United, subject to Premier League and FA clearance.
The highly-rated 20-year-old forward completed the formalities of the move just hours before Monday night’s transfer deadline,

joining Esteban Cambiasso and Danny Simpson among Nigel Pearson’s new recruits in the last week.

Powell joins the Foxes following a successful spell on loan last season with Wigan Athletic, where he made 41 appearances in a variety of attacking positions and scored and impressive 12 goals.
