- 21-year-old is close to signing a new deal with the club
- Daniel Sturridge, Joe Allen, Emre Can and Glen Johnson are expected to miss Saturday's trip to West Ham
Liverpool and England full-back Jon Flanagan is facing another two months out after undergoing surgery on his left knee. The 21-year-old has been
struggling with fluid on his knee since the club's pre-season tour of America and hasn't played since July's friendly against Preston.
Flanagan, who is close to signing a new long-term contract after impressing last season,
was scheduled to return to full training this month but
the injury has failed to respond to treatment and surgery has been deemed the best solution. Flanagan made his full England debut against Ecuador in June.
Meanwhile, Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is making progress from his injury
but Liverpool still expect to be without Daniel Sturridge, Joe Allen, Emre Can and Glen Johnson for Saturday's trip to West Ham.
