Hammers duo up for awards Sam Allardyce and Diafra Sakho have been nominated for the Barclays Premier League Manager and Player of the Month awards for October after an outstanding month for West Ham United. The Hammers completed a perfect October with three wins out of three to lift them into the top four of the Barclays Premier League table.
After Queens Park Rangers were defeated at the Boleyn Ground and Burnley beaten at Turf Moor, West Ham saved their best until last by triumphing 2-1 against Manchester City on 25 October.
Sakho scored in all three games, taking his tally to seven goals in as many starts for his new Club and cementing his reputation as one of the league's signings of the summer.
Allardyce is up against Jose Mourinho, Steve Bruce and Alan Pardew for the manager's award. Chelsea boss Mourinho led his side to seven points from their three October fixtures, as the Blues defeated Arsenal and Crystal Palace but drew with Manchester United.
Newcastle United manager Pardew also took seven points in October, as the Magpies beat Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur, and drew at Swansea City.
Bruce meanwhile, won one game and drew two with Hull during the month, with clean sheets against Crystal Palace and Hull City to boot.
Sakho's competition for the Player of the Month prize comes from Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, Manchester City striker Sergio Augero, West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino, Dusan Tadic of Southampton and Everton left-back Leighton Baines. http://www.whufc.com/articles/20141106/hammers-duo-up-for-awards_2236884_4275589 [ 此帖被羅力亞在2014-11-07 18:07重新編輯 ]
