Transfer news: Arsenal set to complete signing of Polish youngster Krystian Bielik
Arsenal are expected to complete the signing of Legia Warsaw youngster Krystian Bielik in the coming days, according to Sky sources.Gunners representatives are believed to have flown out to Poland on Wednesday to complete the deal, believed to be in the region of £2million.
Sky Sports News HQ reported on January 6 that the North London club failed with a £1.6m offer for the defensive midfielder, but Arsenal returned with a second bid this week.And Bielik, a 17-year-old Poland youth international, could complete the transfer before Arsenal’s game at Manchester City on Sunday, which is live on Sky Sports 1HD.
Warsaw’s manager, the former Manchester United defender Henning Berg, told Sky Sports News HQ that Bielik "does not have any weaknesses".
He said: “He’s a physical player with good skills. He has very good understanding of the game and match mentality. Krystian is quite far ahead of other players at his age.”
Berg has signed a new three-year-deal following the club’s return from their winter break, having been the subject of interest from an unnamed Bundesliga club.
The Norwegian, who has long-term interest in managing in England following a brief spell in charge of Blackburn in 2012, led Warsaw to the Polish Championship last season and his side are currently three points clear at top of the Ekstraklasa.
