Diego Costa: Chelsea striker has fresh hamstring injury Chelsea striker Diego Costa lasted only 10 minutes of his team's match against Stoke on Saturday before being forced off with further hamstring trouble. The 29-year-old Spain international replaced Oscar at half-time against the Potters with the score at 1-1.
But he pulled up in the Stoke penalty area and was replaced by veteran Didier Drogba as Chelsea went on to win 2-1.Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho confirmed Costa will now be out for a minimum of two weeks.
Speaking after the narrow victory at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho said: "If the medical department decide to take four weeks, it wouldn't happen but in football you need to take a risk. I risk sometimes.
The medical department risks a little.
"All the scans two days ago, the muscle and image was completely clean. The player trained twice at 100%. He did much more in training than he did in the match.
"If the result was 2-0 he wouldn't play. The medical department do fantastic things for us. We will wait for Diego again. Next week Loic [Remy] or Didier will play."
Asked how long Costa would be sidelined for the Chelsea boss added: "For sure a couple of weeks minimum. Let's see what happens."Costa, who joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid for £32m on a five-year contract in July last year, injured his hamstring playing for Spain in September.
Later that month Mourinho revealed that the striker was not able to play more than one match a week because of the condition.
He suffered another hamstring problem against Hull on 22 March and missed Spain's recent two matches.
