Neven Subotic agrees new Borussia Dortmund contract - sources
Arsenal target Neven Subotic has agreed a new long-term deal to stay at Borussia Dortmund to end speculation over his future, sources have told ESPN FC.ESPN FC sources said in March that Arsenal were weighing up a move for Subotic this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his options in central defence.
The Gunners are among a number of other top European clubs to have scouted Subotic this season, aware his contract was due to expire in 2016.
However, Dortmund have made keeping the 26-year-old one of their top priorities, with Subotic set to play a key part in new boss Thomas Tuchel's plans at the Westfalenstadion next season
Sources have told ESPN FC tha
t Subotic is poised to sign a new deal to keep him at the club until 2018 and the news will come as a massive boost to Dortmund ahead of this weekend's DFB Pokal final with Wolfsburg.The Serbian has earned a reputation as one of the best defenders in Europe after playing a key role in the Dortmund side that won back-to-back Bundesliga titles and reached the Champions League final in 2013.
Subotic has rediscovered his best form this season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament tear in November 2013, making 39 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund this term.
