Aston Villa 'close to deal' for Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye



Aston Villa have agreed a transfer fee of £9m for Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye , according to Sky sources.

The 25-year-old Senegalese star has played more than 130 games for the French top division side since joining in 2010.

He is expected to fly to England on Thursday for talks and a medical.

If he completes a move to Villa Park, Gueye would be manager Tim Sherwood's second summer signing, following the purchase of Micah Richards from Manchester City.

Villa complete signing of Jordan Amavi



Aston Villa Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Jordan Amavi.

The 21-year-old full-back has signed a five-year deal with the Club and joins from French side Nice for an undisclosed fee.

Amavi is a France Under-21 international and is one of the most highly rated young players in Europe.

Manager Tim Sherwood said: "I'm delighted to have secured the services of someone we consider to be a terrific young player.

"Jordan has been one of the outstanding players in Ligue 1 and is still very young and can become even better.

"There were a lot of clubs after him this summer so we are really pleased to welcome him to the Club."

Amavi will meet his new team-mates for the first time on Monday.
