West Brom confirm one party granted exclusivity of the club



West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace has confirmed that exclusivity has been granted to one unnamed party interested in purchasing the club, which should be completed by the end of July.

Several parties from China, the United States and the Far East had held discussions with the Premier League side after they decided to “consider strategic options for the future development and legacy of the club.”

In February, West Brom, who have spent five season in the Premier League, announced profits of £14.7m.

West Brom, valued at £150m, could become the 12th Premier League club to have foreign owners.

In an official statement, West Brom assured supporters that preparations for next season will not be affected by the takeover.

It read: “The club wishes to assure supporters preparations for the new season will remain unaffected.

“The chairman, head coach Tony Pulis, chief executive Mark Jenkins and Richard Garlick, the director of football administration, have met to discuss and progress future transfer targets.

“They remain in constant dialogue over the re-shaping of the first-team squad for the 2015/16 Barclays Premier League campaign.”
