Italian World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro has been sacked as the manager of Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr after just four months in charge.Thursday's 4-3 defeat to Najran, which left the defending champions well off the pace in sixth place in the table with 10 matches remaining, proved the final straw. The former defender, who led his country to World Cup success in 2006 and also played for Juventus and Real Madrid, only managed six wins in his 14 games in charge.
It is a second successive curtailed managerial stint for Cannavaro, whose coaching debut with Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande ended early last year after only a few of months in charge.
Having taken charge of first-team affairs in October, Cannavaro was originally given 22 games to help Al Nassr retain their Saudi Pro League crown.
But the defending champions trail leaders Al Hilal by 18 points, having won only once in 2016.
