Steven Gerrard has confirmed he will return to Liverpool next week but ruled out returning to Anfield on a loan move.

Gerrard left his boyhood club after nearly 17 years in the summer to join LA Galaxy on an 18-month deal.

The 35-year-old, who admitted he struggled during his first season in America, has since returned to England for a break following Galaxy's exit from the MLS Western Conference play-offs.

Jurgen Klopp said earlier this month he would be happy for Gerrard to train with the squad and the Reds legend said on Tuesday he was looking forward to working with the German manager.

"Yeah next week I'm going to go in for a couple of weeks and work with Mr Klopp," Gerrard said.

"I'm looking really forward to that, see what he's about and try and learn a few things off him."

However, when asked if this would lead to a temporary move back to the Reds during the winter, he told BT Sport: 'No'.

自在美職季後賽出局後，謝拉特（Steven Gerrard）已經返回家鄉利物浦渡假，亦經常現身晏菲路觀看舊東家比賽，周日1:0小勝史雲斯一役，亦是座上客見證球隊3連勝。

紅軍領隊高普早前曾表示不會在1月期間向洛杉磯銀河借用謝四，但則歡迎他回來跟操，助他在美職新球季展開前操弗狀態，而謝四亦表示樂意觀摩高普的操練部署，從中學習，似乎雙方已經達成共識，傳媒已拍到「神奇隊長」周一早上駕車抵達米活特訓練場，準備出席操練，而隨後領隊高普亦穿上他的紅色風褸，駕車現身訓練場。

謝拉特除會與佐敦軒達臣、史卡迪爾及菲臘比古天奴等舊隊友，在練習時再次並肩合作，而賓迪基、羅拔圖法明奴及尼達利基尼等新兵，亦會首次在米活特目睹這位前隊長如何展現他的老大哥風範。

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists Steven Gerrard is welcome at Anfield any time, after he returned to Melwood this week.

The LA Galaxy midfielder is back on Merseyside to maintain his fitness during the MLS post-season and Klopp was delighted to welcome him back to the club.

Klopp has been keen to stress Gerrard will not be adding to the 500-plus appearances he made for the Reds, but the German believes he can still have a positive influence on the side.

Asked about Gerrard's arrival at training on Monday ahead of the Sky Live Capital One Cup quarter-final with Southampton on Wednesday, the German said: "He won't play! But he was in good shape.

"I said to the team before training, when he was with us in the dressing room, it's completely normal. It should always be like this.

"If you are a player like Steven Gerrard in Liverpool then the doors have to be open always - that's how it is at the moment. It's an important sign for all players.

"If you behave like him in the club, if you always give everything you have, then it's easy to come back and that's how it is at the moment. It's a good situation.

"He was a very important player and at this moment he is a very important player because he is in training.

"Everybody had a smile on their faces when they saw Stevie. It's good to have him here.

"We hope we can help him and he can help us for sure only with being in the dressing room - it's good."
