Swansea City head coach Francesco Guidolin will agree a new three-year contract with the club on Wednesday, according to Sky sources. The Italian joined Swansea in January when they were just two points above the relegation zone. The 60-year old has guided them to 11th place in the Premier League and Wednesday's board meeting at the Liberty Stadium is expected to ratify an extension to take Guidolin through to 2019.The players have voiced their support for the Italian and a growing section of the fan base believe he has earned a chance to carry on his work.
Guidolin's claim to remain in the post was boosted by Swansea's 4-1 win at West Ham on Saturday.
After the game, goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski said: "It's down to the chairman and down to the board to decide, but you can see things are working with him.
"We're playing well and picked ourselves up, not only points-wise, but playing-wise as well. We've improved the way we play because in the first half of the season we struggled a bit."
