• Captain James Rodriguez made it 2-0 in the 30th minute with a low strike
• Paraguay pulled one back when Victor Ayala scored from long-range
• Oscar Romero was sent off late on as Colombia held on for victory

Colombia became the first team to reach the quarter-finals of the Copa America as they beat a spirited Paraguay side 2-1 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Carlos Bacca opened the scoring before James Rodriguez added a second in the first half, but Jose Pekerman's side didn't have it all their own way as Victor Ayala's stunning strike gave Paraguay hope in the second half.
Oscar Romero was sent off late on as Colombia held on to book their place in the last eight.

哥倫比亞乘首仗贏東道主美國之勇，今仗面對巴拉圭亦先採取主動，上半場僅12分鐘即由AC米蘭前鋒卡路士巴卡頂成1:0。接戰至30分鐘，哥軍首席球星，來自皇家馬德里的占士洛迪古斯射地波得手領先2:0。

易邊後，雙方一度陷入拉鋸狀態，域陀艾耶拉於71分鐘為巴拉圭破蛋，最終哥倫比亞以2:1勝出，取得兩連勝得6分。

由於同樣兩戰得3分的巴拉圭與美國於下仗交鋒，故肯定不會出現兩隊都超越哥倫比亞的局面，故哥軍成為賽事首支確認小組頭兩名而出線的球隊，估計最後一場分組賽鬥哥斯達黎加會留力。

當然計技術仲係麻麻，但奇哥調校做得唔錯，

但強隊想出半力都唔易贏
