Ronald Koeman informs players that they are not part of his plans at Goodison
Ronald has ended the Everton careers of long-serving Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert. The new Blues boss has informed the veteran pair that they will not be offered new deals.
Osman and Hibbert were both out of contract at the end of the season and were named on the club’s released list, prior to Koeman’s appointment as manager on June 14. And the ECHO has learnt that Everton will be not giving them new deals. Osman and Hibbert had been hoping their Goodison futures would have been resolved before the end of the season but former boss Roberto Martinez insisted talks had to wait until after the final game.
Martinez was axed in mid-May and so Osman and Hibbert were forced to wait for an answer.
Both the 35-year-olds want to carry on playing at the highest level possible and will now begin talking to interested clubs.
Osman and Hibbert both came through the Everton Academy and end their Goodison careers with a combined 762 appearances between them across a 16 year period.
