West Bromwich Albion will demand £25million from Swansea for record signing Nacer Chadli, after completing the capture of Everton's Gareth Barry.Chadli is set to leave West Brom this month after falling out of favour with Tony Pulis but the club are determined to hold out for a signifciant fee.
It is understood that Albion have already paid Tottenham Hotspur £18million for the Belgium international, which includes the original fee from last August and various installments, and will ask for a minimum £25million before doing business.Swansea are targeting Chadli, 28, as they prepare for the sale of Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton in a deal which could reach £50million.
But unless the Welsh club make an acceptable offer there is a chance that Chadli, who infuriated Pulis after refusing to go on the pre-season training camp in Austria, could stay at the Hawthorns.
Meanwhile, Everton have offloaded Barry to Albion for £800,000 to end the former England international's four-year association with the Merseyside club.
Barry, 36, completed his medical at West Brom's training ground on Tuesday and will sign a one-year contract.
Pulis sees Barry as an ideal replacement for Darren Fletcher, who completed a surprise move to Stoke City on a free transfer earlier this summer.
Pulis is expecting a frantic finale to the transfer window and is targeting at least three more signings, including a centre-half, a winger and a forward.
After the 1-0 win over Bournemouth, Pulis reiterated his desire to bring in new recruits. He said: "We need to get some players in and quickly..
"Everybody from around the football club is waiting for them to come in.
"They've got to be players that improve us. We will work tremendously hard the next two weeks to give us a better opportunity to do well. The squad's just not strong enough.
"We only have 17 senior pros so we need to and we've got a few at the top age so it just needs restructuring."
