Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas out for three weeksCesc Fabregas will be out of action for two to three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Fabregas picked up the injury in scoring Arsenal's freak opener in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Arsenal were hopeful that their skipper would not be out of action for too long, and scans performed on Tuesday morning confirmed he will be out for just a few weeks.
The Gunners will be hoping that their talismanic captain manages to return within two weeks, meaning he is fit for the crunch showdown with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on October 3. That is the last game before the international break so even if he fails to face Chelsea he should definitely return against Birmingham City on October 16.
Fabregas is certain to miss Saturday's game at West Bromwich Albion as well as the trip to Serbia to take on Partizan Belgrade in the Champions League.
