Avram Grant has allowed Kieron Dyer to head back to Portman Road on a loan basis
11.03.2011
Kieron Dyer has joined Ipswich Town on a month-long loan.
The midfielder trained with the Championship side on Friday morning and could make his debut away to Leeds United on Saturday afternoon. He becomes the third Hammer out on loan, with Jordan Spence at Bristol City and Matthew Fry at Charlton Athletic.
Dyer first came to prominence as a schoolboy at Ipswich and broke into their first team as a 17-year-old in 1996/97. He spent three seasons at Portman Road before leaving for Newcastle United. He then spent eight years in the north-east before his move to West Ham United in August 2007.
He suffered a double leg break in his first month at the club, and injury has continued to blight his time at the Boleyn. However, Dyer has enjoyed his most productive campaign in east London this season, making 13 appearances. He has not figured, though, since 26 January.
Dyer will stay with Ipswich until 9 April.
