Real Madrid's Emmanuel Adebayor: I’ll retire at 31 & become my children's chauffeur
In a personality profile show in Ghana, the goal poacher reaffirms his desire to stay with Los Blancos and reveals why he is not missing Emirates
Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor has stated he will hang his professional boots in the next four years to give more attention to his family and business.
The 27-year-old said his early retirement from football means taking up the responsibility of chauffeuring his kids to school as he keeps an eye on his real estate business.
“At 31 years I’ll quit football and [that is] for real,” the Manchester City loanee told Joy FM at his plush mansion in Ghana. “I’ll return to Africa and become a driver to my children to school.”
The Togolese international said he would love to stay with Spanish giants Madrid, but all will depend on ongoing talks with The Citizens.
Meanwhile, the former Arsenal star stated he is in touch with most of his team mates at Emirates, but stated the chapter his closed between him and the Gunners.
“I had a great time in Arsenal, that's for sure. Do I miss Arsenal as a team? I’ve moved on. For me Arsenal is behind. I keep in touch with the old players,” he revealed.
Touching on his family’s future, the lanky forward said his plan is to have at most three children because he doesn't "want to leave any problem behind."
The Togolese of Nigerian origin said he will seek to expand on his real estate business. He currently owns over 28 houses in Ghana and Togo not to mention those he cannot remember elsewhere in the world.
“I’ve bought houses that I don’t even know… I love building houses,” he joked
