Mathieu Debuchy could look to leave Arsenal after being left out of France squad - Mathieu Debuchy has been overtaken by Hector Bellerin at Arsenal
- Right back has now been left out by Didier Deschamps as well
- With home European championships ahead, Debuchy could look elsewhere
- But Arsene Wenger is reluctant to let his senior right back leave
Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy is ready to consider his long-term future after losing his place in the France squad. The right-back was omitted from Didier Deschamps squad for their forthcoming fixtures yesterday - and the decision has placed further question marks over Debuchy's future. The Frenchman has been overtaken by Hector Bellerin in Arsene Wenger's plans and has spent the majority of the season as a substitute.
And with a home European Championships around the corner; Debuchy fears he may not get his place in the squad back if his spell on the sidelines continue. That is likely to force the former Newcastle United man to consider his options in January when the transfer window reopens. In an interview with French media; Debuchy revealed he thought about leaving in the summer after losing his place to Bellerin.
And his axing from the France squad will only enhance his urge to quit the Emirates Stadium.
However, whether the Gunners sanction a move for Debuchy mid-season remains to be seen.
Carl Jenkinson is currently on loan at West Ham; while Calum Chambers - who is viewed as a centre-back - has had a difficult start to the new season.
And manager Arsene Wenger is likely to be reluctant to part with Debuchy, even if the defender decides he wants to leave.
