Arsenal are finally preparing to discuss contract extensions for their homegrown contingent, including Jack Wilshere.
The futures of Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are uncertain with their current deals due to expire at the end of next season.
But the club have now made discussing the futures of their English trio a top priority.
Wilshere is expected to be the first to be called in for talks, with the England international due to sit down with Gunners chiefs imminently.
It remains to be seen if Wilshere will sign an extension, with regular first-team football a priority for the 25-year-old.
Whether that will be on offer at the Emirates Stadium remains to be seen given he was allowed to leave for a loan spell at Bournemouth in August.

Manchester City have an interest in Wilshere while Cherries boss Eddie Howe has admitted he'd be keen to take the midfielder on a permanent deal.
Talks with Gibbs and Oxlade-Chamberlain are expected to follow.
The three England international's can expect improvements on their current deals, but it remains to be seen how far Arsenal are willing to push the boat out.
Goalkeeper David Ospina, meanwhile, is a doubt for Wednesday's clash against West Ham after suffering a dead leg in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Manchester City.
Petr Cech is still suffering from a calf injury meaning third-choice Emiliano Martinez, 24, could be called in to deputise.

Jack Wilshere joins West Ham on three-year deal

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has joined West Ham on a three-year deal and says he has moved to the club he supported as a boy.

The 26-year-old England player's contract with the Gunners expired at the end of June.

"It feels special. Many people know that I've had a special bond with this club growing up," he said.

"I've got good memories of my childhood supporting West Ham, watching them at Upton Park."

The Hammers are also closing in on the signing of Ukraine forward Andriy Yarmolenko.

A fee of about 20m euros (£17.66m) is understood to have been agreed with Borussia Dortmund.

Wilshere is set to fly to Switzerland to link up with new West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini's squad at the club's pre-season training camp.

Despite his career being badly affected by injuries, the Hammers are confident Wilshere can make a meaningful contribution to a squad being overhauled by Pellegrini.

West Ham director of football Mario Husillos said: "Manuel and I identified him as a target as soon as we joined the club and we are delighted to have succeeded in securing Jack's signature above a number of other teams."

Wilshere made 197 first-team appearances for Arsenal and was part of the 2014 and 2015 FA Cup-winning sides.

After spending the 2016-17 campaign on loan at fellow Premier League side Bournemouth, he returned to the Gunners and made 38 appearances last season but was not included in Gareth Southgate's England World Cup squad.

West Ham are close to signing Jack Wilshere on a three-year deal after holding productive talks with the former Arsenal midfielder.

Wilshere had a medical on Thursday and it is thought that he is likely to become West Ham’s fourth summer signing.

The 26-year-old has been looking for a new club after leaving Arsenal at the end of last season. He failed to agree a new contract with the north London club after being told that he was unlikely to be a regular starter under Unai Emery, who has replaced Arsene Wenger as Arsenal’s manager.

West Ham have signed Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop since appointing Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager in May. However, a move for Lazio’s Felipe Anderson has stalled, with a fee for the Brazilian winger still not agreed.

Jack Wilshere has held talks with West Ham about a potential move to the club, Sky sources understand.

Wilshere is available on a free transfer after he officially left Arsenal at the end of his contract on Saturday.

Sky Sports News has been told Fenerbahce are also interested in signing Wilshere.

The England international told Sky Sports News last week he was in no rush but was open to offers in the Premier League and abroad.

"This has been a good opportunity for me to rest and reflect on my life and what I want - I am not going to rush that decision," Wilshere said.

"The transfer window finishes early August, so we still have some time and with the World Cup still going on things happen after the World Cup and during.

"Everyone knows what Deadline Day is like, it's manic and teams start to panic so we will see. I am not putting a deadline on anything."

New West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini took charge of his first training session with the club in Switzerland on Tuesday.

Among those taking part in the session were summer signings Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop, who are starting their West Ham careers after joining from Fulham and Toulouse respectively.

New goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has not joined up with the squad yet after playing in the World Cup for Poland.
