Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has thanked Torino fans after his loan spell at the Serie A club came to a close.

The 30-year-old made 36 appearances for the club in all competitions last season, helping them to a ninth-placed finish.

"Thank you Torino...I am so proud to have played for your special football club," Hart wrote on Instagram. "The way you have treated me and my family is something that we will never forget.

"I will forever support Torino for the rest of my days. I have met so many special people and this has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.

"I will come back to see you all one day so it is bye for now, enjoy an amazing summer."

Hart's current contract with Manchester City runs until 2019, but the England international was deemed surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola at the beginning of the season as the former Barca boss signed Claudio Bravo.

Manchester City released Willy Caballero last week, alongside Gael Clichy, Jesus Navas and Bacary Sagna, but Hart's future remains uncertain with the club in talks over a world-record deal for Benfica goalkeeper Ederson, according to Sky sources.

Sky sources understand City, who finished third in the Premier League, are in talks to sign the 23-year-old Ederson for £34.9m.

On Sunday, the Brazilian admitted he had "probably" played his last game for Benfica, hours after clinching a campaign double with victory in the Portuguese Cup.

Hart earns £4.5 million a year on his current City contract, and West Ham are paying him £2.5 million of that sum directly and then paying City a £2 million 'loan fee' which City will use to then fund the rest of his wages.

Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart has completed a season-long loan move to West Ham.

Hart had been told he could find another club by City boss Pep Guardiola after spending last season at Torino.

The 30-year-old made it clear to City his preference was to join West Ham, and they facilitated that.

There is no option to buy in the deal and, should West Ham want Hart next summer, they will have to bid for him like any other club.

City have agreed to fund part of Hart's wages but West Ham are also paying a loan fee, believed to be £4.5m.

Hart, whose City contract is not due to expire until 2019, is expected to join West Ham's squad on their pre-season tour of Austria.

West Ham United are delighted to confirm the signing of England’s No1 goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Capped 71 times by his country, two-time Premier League champion Hart joins the Hammers on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Hart cannot wait to pull on a West Ham United jersey and put on a show for the Claret and Blue Army.

“It's important for me to play football and to get the opportunity to come here and play is absolutely awesome,” he told West Ham TV. “To be playing in the Premier League for a big club like West Ham, I'm really looking forward to the season.

"I've always loved the Club. I think you'll struggle to find anyone, apart from the direct opposing fans around London, who doesn't love the Club. It's got something about it, it's got a lot history and I've always loved playing against West Ham.

"We've moved into London Stadium and we've got Slaven in charge who I've spoken to and I've always enjoyed as a manager. He obviously did a good job with Croatia and he's doing a good job here, so to get the opportunity to come here, it wasn't really a hard decision."
