Watford agree to sell Abdoulaye Doucouré to Everton for ?22m

Téléfoot Chaine report that Championship side Watford have accepted a ?22m bid from Everton for French midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré.

The ex-Rennes man has agreed a 4-year contract with the Toffees and will have a medical tomorrow with Everton.

Abdoulaye Doucoure: Everton sign Watford midfielder on three-year deal

Everton have signed Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure on a three-year contract for a transfer fee understood to be £20m.

The 27-year-old Frenchman has made 129 Premier League appearances since joining the Hornets in January 2016.

Doucoure is Carlo Ancelotti's fourth summer signing and follows Niels Nkounkou, Allan and James Rodriguez.

"I had some interest from other clubs but Everton was the only club I wanted to join," he said.

Everton tried to sign the former Rennes midfielder last summer but Watford refused to sell.

The position changed with the Hornets' relegation and Ancelotti has succeeded where predecessor Marco Silva did not.

"I have been waiting a long time to come here and now it has happened so I am very happy," Doucoure added.

The Toffees begin their top-flight campaign away to Tottenham on Sunday, 13 September (16:30 BST).

Abdoulaye Doucoure: Everton agree £25m deal with Watford for midfielder



Everton have agreed a deal with Watford for midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure that could be worth up to £25m.

Negotiations between Everton and Watford reached a successful conclusion on Wednesday afternoon.

The 27-year-old Frenchman will have a medical before signing a four-year contract with the Toffees.

Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti is also closing in on moves for Real Madrid's James Rodriguez and Lazio's Brazil international Allan.

Everton tried to sign Doucoure last summer but Watford refused to sell. The position changed with the Hornets' relegation and manager Ancelotti rekindled the interest that was first shown by his predecessor Marco Silva.

Doucoure is part of an ambitious Ancelotti rebuilding programme.

Everton are hopeful of concluding a £20m deal for Real Madrid's 27-year-old Colombian attacker Rodriguez before the end of the week, with Ancelotti the driving force behind the move.

Ancelotti formed a close relationship with Rodriguez at the Bernabeu and also took him to Bayern Munich on loan.

Rodriguez is expected to have his medical on Thursday.

Everton have agreed a £25m deal with Napoli for combative Brazil midfield man Allan, 29, who was an important figure in Ancelotti's side in Italy before he was sacked in December.
