Roma will hold talks with the representatives of Samuel Eto’o on Monday afternoon, Goal can reveal. The Serie A club will meet with Eto'o's camp in Rome in a bid to persuade the Cameroon star to follow Ashley Cole to the Stadio Olimpico. Roma manager Rudi Garcia is a big admirer of Eto’o, who is a free agent after his one-year Chelsea contract expired at the end of June.
The striker did not score for Cameroon during their dismal World Cup showing,
missing two of their three matches through injury, but he netted 12 times for Chelsea last season following his move from Anzhi Makhachkala.
The Giallorossi’s swoop for Eto’o comes as they finalise the capture of his former team-mate Cole.
The 33-year-old left-back arrived in the Italy capital on Monday morning to put the finishing touches to his move and sign a two-year contract worth £38,000 per week after tax.
