Arsenal are finally preparing to discuss contract extensions for their homegrown contingent, including Jack Wilshere.
The futures of Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are uncertain with their current deals due to expire at the end of next season.
But the club have now made discussing the futures of their English trio a top priority.
Wilshere is expected to be the first to be called in for talks, with the England international due to sit down with Gunners chiefs imminently.
It remains to be seen if Wilshere will sign an extension, with regular first-team football a priority for the 25-year-old.
Whether that will be on offer at the Emirates Stadium remains to be seen given he was allowed to leave for a loan spell at Bournemouth in August.

Manchester City have an interest in Wilshere while Cherries boss Eddie Howe has admitted he'd be keen to take the midfielder on a permanent deal.
Talks with Gibbs and Oxlade-Chamberlain are expected to follow.
The three England international's can expect improvements on their current deals, but it remains to be seen how far Arsenal are willing to push the boat out.
Goalkeeper David Ospina, meanwhile, is a doubt for Wednesday's clash against West Ham after suffering a dead leg in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Manchester City.
Petr Cech is still suffering from a calf injury meaning third-choice Emiliano Martinez, 24, could be called in to deputise.

Jack Wilshere approaches last six months of contract with Arsenal still yet to offer new deal

Arsenal have still made no offer to extend Jack Wilshere’s contract, even though the midfielder is now less than three weeks away from being able to negotiate with other clubs.

Theo Walcott and Petr Cech have also not begun discussions over deals that expire at the end of next season, although the most pressing situations clearly now concern Wilshere, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, who are out of contract in June.

Yet whereas Arsenal have been trying for more than a year to extend the contracts of Ozil and Sanchez, there is still nothing on the table for Wilshere, who scored his first Arsenal goal in two years in Thursday’s 6-0 Europa League win against BATE Borisov.

Walcott also scored and, like Wilshere, needs first team football between now and the end of the season to have any chance of regaining his place in the England squad ahead of the World Cup next summer.

Wilshere, though, is highly unlikely to be loaned given his contract status and, while his desire has always been to stay at Arsenal, his wider preference for any permanent move is to stay in London or the South.

Crystal Palace and West Ham United are interested but would clearly represent gambles given their own positions in the relegation zone of the Premier League table.

Wilshere will be able to talk with clubs from abroad in January but may prefer to fight for his place at Arsenal in the knowledge that he would almost certainly have more options next summer when he would be available on a free transfer.

Southampton and Everton are both interested in Walcott but Wenger is reluctant to weaken his squad in January – particularly with Arsenal currently competing across four fronts – and his future is likely to be resolved next summer.

Cech is also out of contract in 2019 but, at 35, all sides are relaxed about the situation and there is a strong chance he will further extend his deal next year. Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck are others whose contracts expire at the end of next season and it is understood that provisional talks have been held with both players. Wenger has said that Arsenal’s needs will come before any individual or national team in deciding how best to handle the various situations.
