Wayne Rooney is set to miss Manchester United's clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday after being struck down with a stomach bug, according to the Daily Mail.
Rooney, who hasn't scored in 13 games, was expected to travel with the squad to London but it is believed he has now been ruled out of the game.
This will be worrying news not only for Sir Alex Ferguson but for England manager Fabio Capello, who was hoping his star striker would fire ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria next month.
It is believed Rooney did turn up for training on Friday, but was sent home by United's club doctor to prevent other members of the squad from being struck down with the virus.
Ferguson was set to name the same side that defeated Newcastle 3-0 on for the game at Craven Cottage but now looks to give Javier Hernandez his first start in a United shirt on Sunday.
