Celtics, Suns Interested in Josh Powell

The Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns are among the teams expressing interest in unrestricted free agent Josh Powell, according to sources close to the situation. The 29-year-old signed in China during the lockout, but now he’s back in the United States and weighing his options.

Powell has played for the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks. He won two championships during his time with the Lakers. Over the course of his six-year career, Powell has averaged 3.9 points and 2.9 rebounds.

我覺得兩個功能差唔多, 一樣負責防守同等射外圍

Thunder, Derek Fisher work on deal

Derek Fisher is in advanced negotiations with the Oklahoma City Thunder to sign with the Western Conference leaders after clearing waivers, according to sources close to the situation.

Fisher is scheduled to clear waivers at 6 p.m. ET Wednesday. One source with knowledge of the talks told ESPN.com that Fisher is "very close" to committing to sign with the Thunder once he becomes a free agent.

Report: Fisher in OKC to finalize new deal with Thunder

Former Lakers point guard Derek Fisher is in Oklahoma City to finalize talks on a contract. Fisher was spotted at OKC's Will Rogers World Airport early this morning with Thunder GM Sam Presti and other members of the Thunder front office. Fisher has reportedly been in final negotiations with the Thunder on a contract that would bring him to the Western Conference leaders after he clears waivers.

Oklahoma City does not have an open roster spot so the team would have to waive a player to make room for the five-time world champion.
Thunder forward Kevin Durant called Fisher, "a Thunder guy", when it comes to character and leadership during a session with reporters before Oklahoma City's game with the Utah Jazz. At that time Durant declined to speculate on whether a deal would get done.

Boris Diaw, Charlotte Bobcats agree to buyout

Power forward Boris Diaw and the Charlotte Bobcats have agreed on a buyout of his remaining contract that should be completed in time for Diaw to be eligible for another team’s playoff roster.

Bobcats vice president of basketball operations Rod Higgins confirmed that early Wednesday morning to the Observer. The buyout, which should be completed sometime today, would make Diaw a free agent in time to sign with a contender. Meanwhile the Bobcats open one of 15 roster spots and save some of what’s left of Diaw’s $9 million salary.

It’s not known just how much money Diaw agreed to give up for his freedom.

Sources: Ronny Turiaf, Miami Heat close to terms

Free agent Ronny Turiaf is finalizing an agreement with the Miami Heat, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday.

Turiaf, a 6-foot-10 forward, gives the Heat a strong rebounding and defensive presence as they fortify themselves for an NBA title run. Turiaf is another tough, experienced veteran who will help defend the Chicago Bulls and Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The deal will be announced later Wednesday, league sources said.

“We’re working hard to get it finished up,” Turiaf’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, told Yahoo! Sports.
