A shocking transfer story in the last days of the summer window.
While Milan is still hoping to sign Ibrahimovic, the more realistic option is a return for Mario Balotelli.
On Saturday the striker met with coach Mihajlovic, who already worked with him at Inter, in Florence to see if there are the conditions for a deal, Super Mario would gladly return to the rossoneri.
The deal with Liverpool could be completed on the basis of a free loan, Milan will make to make the decisions in the next few hours- it will be up to Galliani, Berlusconi and Mihajlovic who so far is the only who has spoke to the player.
Ibrahimovic will likely remain just a dream despite having just one one year left on his contract with PSG, but Milan wants a striker seen that Matri will likely leave.

Milan-Liverpool make progress on Balotelli deal: possible medical tomorrow

Balotelli's shocking return to Milan is slowly becoming a reality.
Last night Mihajlovic met with the striker in Florence, and this morning Galliani confirmed the rossoneri's interest in Super Mario.
Milan wants to close the deal today, they're working on an agreement where Liverpool would split the cost of the wages with the rossoneri.

The deal was conceived last night and it could be concluded in the matter of hours.
Balotelli is already in Italy and he's not expected to return to England, he could take the medical tomorrow.
Milan and Liverpool are also discussing a future option to buy for the rossoneri.
With Balotelli on his way to Milan, Alessandro Matri could head to Lazio who is looking for another central striker.

BALOTELLI NEARING ANFIELD EXIT

Mario Balotelli’s career at Liverpool looks set to come to an end after AC Milan revealed talks had opened talks over a loan move for the striker.

Balotelli, who is yet to feature for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season, moved to Anfield from Milan last summer in a £16million deal.

And Milan CEO Adriano Gallinani has confirmed the two clubs are in negotiations.

“There are negotiations with Liverpool for a loan, but we have not reached an agreement on wages,” Galliani said to Mediaset Premium.

“We want a loan with a portion of the wages paid by us and another portion by Liverpool.

“We want Balo because we are convinced this lad realises that this is absolutely his last chance. I hope he understands that.”

GdS reports that Milan will pay ?3m to loan Balotelli this season, and that Liverpool will pay 50% of his salary

Milan will try to get a buy-out option set at ?10m included in the deal for Balotelli. [GdS]

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher says that Mario Balotelli won’t be missed at Liverpool when he joins AC Milan.

It is understood the 25-year-old Italy international met Milan boss Sinisa Mihajlovic in Italy this weekend to discuss the potential move.

Asked whether they’d be many sad faces on Merseyside when Balotelli leaves, Carragher said: “No not from me. The Balotelli signing was a major mistake from the whole club. He (Rodgers) has got Benteke and Sturridge to come back. I still can’t believe he signed him, but it hasn’t worked out and he’s going to move. He’s kidded some coaches if he’s got another move this time to AC Milan.

“Where’s the evidence of his quality?!"
