Palacios Seals Potters MoveSTOKE CITY have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Wilson Palacios.
The 27-year-old Honduran international has moved to the Britannia Stadium for an undisclosed fee after agreeing a four year contract.
The move was finalised in the countdown to the transfer deadline after Palacios agreed personal terms and underwent a medical.
"This is a fantastic deal for the Football Club because Wilson has proved himself to be a top class performer at the highest level," said City's manager Tony Pulis. "He has a considerable amount of international experience and played a prominent part in getting Tottenham into the Champions League only two years ago.
"He has great energy and the qualities to become a driving force in the middle of the park; the type of player our fans will love. We have been looking to strengthen our options in midfield and I am delighted to have him on board."
Palacios becomes City's third signing before tonight's deadline and he will link up again with his former Tottenham team-mate Jonathan Woodgate who arrived on a free transfer from White Hart Lane last month.
He has spent the past two seasons with Spurs after he was signed by Harry Redknapp from Wigan Athletic in a £12 million deal.
In his first full season at Tottenham, he made a significant contribution to the Club qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
Capped 71 times by Honduras, he began his career in his homeland with Olimpia where he scored 32 goals in 101 appearances and helped the club to win five League titles between 2002 and 2008 before moving to Wigan.
